With several new signings already secured and more reportedly on the horizon, Kaizer Chiefs are simultaneously working to retain their existing talent, with one established winger now offered a contract extension despite having significant time remaining on his current deal.
Insiders at Naturena have indicated that Amakhosi are eager to secure the long-term future of South African midfielder Pule Mmodi, who has impressed the technical team over the past two seasons.

Sources close to the club added that although Mmodi's current contract only expires in June 2026, Chiefs are believed to have proactively initiated discussions to extend his stay beyond the original agreement.
"It's believed that Pule Mmodi has entered the final year of his contract at Chiefs and all the parties are willing to conclude a new deal. Chiefs are making progress on the new contract talks with the winger," the insider told Soccer Laduma.
Meanwhile, a second source close to the club stated that additional details regarding the proposed extension terms are being discussed.
"For now, what I know is that it's believed to be a straight one-year deal which has another one-year option. So the first extension would expire in June 2027 but with the option it could run until June 2028 and it's believed that all the involved parties are happy with the talks," the second insider revealed.
