The Red Devils welcomed several new faces to Carrington for the 2024/25 season, with Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte being the final acquisition on deadline day.

He joined Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee in penning a deal with the 20-time English champions, but United's shaky start to the new campaign likely means more changes are expected going forward.

Erik ten Hag's side have claimed only a single victory from their opening three matches, losing twice – including a humiliating 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford to long-time rivals Liverpool.

According to Manchester Evening News, the club's "provisional plan" is to sign a defender, a left-back, a midfielder and a winger at the end of the season.

England internationals Jarrad Branthwaite and Eberechi Eze have been linked with potential switches to United, with the former having been pursued by the club in the most recent window.

Everton decided to turn down the Red Devils' proposals, which they did not deem high enough, but it is expected that United will go back in for the promising centre-back.

Eze, meanwhile, is considered a target for out wide. The 26-year-old remained at Crystal Palace following Michel Olise's move to Bayern Munich, although teams have expressed interest in his signature.

In terms of defence, Tyrell Malacia's lengthy absence means United will move to reinforce the left-back position, while Casemiro's uncertain future in England, as well as Christian Eriksen's, could see the club look to sign another central midfield player.
