According to Football Insider, the Red Devils are considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani as the club prepares to reinforce its attacking contingent.
This comes amid reports that Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane would be open to joining Bayern Munich, who reportedly submitted a bid for the England captain's signature on Tuesday.
While the London side is said to have insisted the 29-year-old is not for sale, there is a belief they could be tempted to sell him should they receive an offer that exceeds £100 million (R2.3 billion).
United head coach Erik ten Hag was previously reported to have considered Kane his priority target ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, but the Dutchman is expected to now turn his attention to alternative options.
Muani is reportedly valued at a high £85 million by Frankfurt, while other targets, such as Benfica's Goncalo Ramos and Napoli's Victor Osimhen, could be even more expensive than that.
