Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has shared his thoughts on Anthony Martial, who walked straight down the tunnel after being substituted.

The Red Devils edged closer to securing a top four finish after defeating Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Martial, however, was substituted shortly before the hour mark and was visibly displeased with Ten Hag's decision, before walking down the tunnel without acknowledging his manager.

The Dutch tactician has revealed the French forward did return to the bench and says there is no story.

"I think he played well, he returned to the bench, he's OK,' ten Hag said," as per talkSPORT.

"I think he just shot into the dressing room, I don't know what you want to make from it."

Ten Hag was, however, critical of his side for not scoring more goals as they scraped to victory.

"[My] only criticism is the score has to be higher, 3-0 or 4-0. We missed a couple of chances. We want to kill the game early so it is always important, with so many chances you have to score," he added.
