The Man Utd academy graduate's career has been marred by a sexual assault scandal that emerged in January 2022. He was suspended by Man Utd after the news broke and subsequently released by his boyhood club in 2024.
After the charges against him were dropped in February 2023, Greenwood spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Getafe before a career resurgence at French giants Olympique Marseille last season, where he won the Ligue 1 top scorer award.

With a switch to Jamaica imminent, all that remains for Greenwood to do is change from the Football Association to the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF) for Greenwood to be selected for Jamaica's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago.
