Ramos' former Los Blancos teammate Casillas currently holds the record with 167 caps for La Furia Roja and Ramos reveals he is looking to surpass the legendary shot-stopper.
"It's a very special moment for me. You hardly have time to enjoy the good moments because everything is non-stop," Ramos was quoted as saying by AS.
"But my enthusiasm is the same as the first day and I've been lucky enough to live through the most beautiful moments a footballer can experience.
"It's a happy time for me because I'm the captain of Spain and I hope I'll be here for a long time yet. My goal is to become the most-capped player of all time for Spain."
