The club from the Moroccan capital has officially confirmed that their manager, Hubert Velud, has successfully undergone surgery on his Achilles tendon.

It remains unknown how the Frenchman ruptured his Achilles, but last season's Botola Pro Inwi runners-up posted on their official Facebook page that the procedure to repair it was a success.

The 65-year-old took charge of the 13-time Botola Pro Inwi champions earlier this campaign, succeeding Czeslaw Michniewicz, who started the season.

Last weekend, Velud made history by leading FAR to their first-ever CAF Champions League quarterfinals. However, as a result of his recent surgery, he will not be on the sidelines to oversee his side in their final group stage match against Masandawana.

This is according to 365Scores, which has reported that he will not even be travelling to South Africa with the team as he recovers fully at home.

While FAR Rabat go into the clash at Loftus Versfeld having already secured their place in the last eight, their opponents have not. All Miguel Cardoso's charges need to do against the North African outfit is avoid defeat, and they will progress to the knockout stages for a seventh successive season.
