The former Orlando Pirates head coach is once again without a job. The Schwandorf native began the season in charge of a Saudi Pro League outfit, Al-Wehda, but after only winning three matches during his 13-match tenure with the Knights of Mecca, the Gulf outfit decided to part ways with the German towards the end of last year.

The 54-year-old got the job in the oil-rich kingdom following his historic season during the 2023/24 campaign with Raja Club Athletic. With the Green Eagles, Zinnbauer became the first manager in Moroccan top-flight history to win the league and Throne Cup without suffering a defeat.

Al-Wehda successfully lured him away from Casablanca as a consequence of his success in northern Africa, but it seems that he may be returning to the continent in the near future.

Algerian outfit JS Kabylie is looking for a new manager following the unexpected resignation of Abdelhak Benchikha earlier this year. According to France Football journalist Nabil Djellit, their number one candidate to become their new head coach was former Senegal boss Aliou Cissé.

The 2022 AFCON winner is believed to have rejected the offer, and now the Ligue Professionnelle 1 side are looking at alternatives, with Zinnbauer being one of them.

He is not the only one in contention for the position, however, as the likes of Amir Abdou and Oswald Tanchot are also understood to be in the running.
