Official: Van Gaal Reveals Netherlands WC Side

Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal has announced his 2022 FIFA World Cup squad, which gets underway next week.

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk will captain the Dutch national side in Qatar, with Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam players Matthijs de Ligt and Daley Blind also apart of the defensive contingent.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong, meanwhile, is an unsurprising inclusion in midfield, along with Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners, while Roma's Georginio Wijnaldum will miss out on the tournament through injury.

Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo are among those that who be responsible for making things happen further up the field for the losing 2010 World Cup finalists, while ex-Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Xavi Simons has been selected.
