Following Kylian Mbappe's spectacular performance in France's 4-1 win over Australia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday, head coach Didier Deschamps heaped praise on the Paris Saint-Germain superstar.

The 23-year-old contributed with a goal and an assist as the world champions came from behind to defeat the Socceroos in their opening fixture of the tournament.
Mbappe's frightening speed and direct running proved a nightmare to deal with for the Australia defenders, earning praise from high-profile ex-footballers Didier Drogba and Gary Lineker, who both appeared in awe of his display.
While Drogba compared him to Brazil icon Ronaldo Nazario, Lineker called the PSG forward the "greatest player on the planet".
Deschamps, speaking after Les Bleus' victory, went as far as to claim that the global showpiece is Mbappe's tournament.
"Kylian, of course, has been one of the best players in the world for some time now and he is feeling very confident, you can see that in the way he is playing," he told reporters, according to Planet Sport.
"I knew that he was going to be ready for this World Cup, it is his competition, he knows how to make the difference.
"But he is part of a team and he has always been able to play as part of a team even though he is an individual, flair player as well. So that is great for us.
"I have got a lot of attackers, but Kylian is, of course, an outstanding one."

Mbappe played an important role as France claimed the 2018 World Cup trophy in Russia, with the striker having now contributed to seven goals in eight matches in the competition overall.
