Al Ahly is one of four African sides competing in the Club tournament, joining Mamelodi Sundowns, Esperance De Tunis, and Wydad AC.
The Egyptian side will play the opening game of the tournament against an Inter Miami side featuring former Barcelona icons Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.
Ahead of the tournament, Motsepe reportedly wrote a letter to Al Ahly where he reaffirmed his full support for the Red Devils, according to Youm7.
Youm7 claim that the South African reportedly called Jose Riveiro's side "the pride of African football" and trusted the club and players to represent the continent with honour.
"We trust Al Ahly Club with its long and glorious history, and millions in the African continent are always proud of it. I look forward to seeing you at the Club World Cup in the USA." Motsepe allegedly revealed in the letter.
With less than three days to go until the start of the tournament, coach Jose Riveiro has reportedly enquired with the team's medical staff to determine the player's physical and tactical readiness for the tournament.
