Al Ahly has the privilege of playing the first game of the Club World Cup against an Inter Miami team stacked with former Barcelona stars including Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
Despite the star power the Heron possess, Trezeguet revealed he was not daunted by the task ahead of the Red Devils, according to AfricaFootaUnited.
The former Aston Villa winger was calm about facing the eight-time Ballon D'Or winner and said the opposition shirt name does not mean much to him.
"Facing Lionel Messi? All the players are focused on this match," he said.
"We will face big names, but when Al-Ahly SC participates in a tournament, we don't look at any name. Our fans support us. We can overcome all obstacles," the Egyptian added.
He added: "My personal ambition is the one the club has instilled in me: always win and be number one."
The 80-capped international was one of several signings made by new manager Jose Riveiro and he hoped the new players would play a key role for the team at the Club World Cup.
"The new players are not really new," he said.
"Every player who joins Al-Ahly is considered a veteran with us. They are all an asset and, God willing, with their help, we will achieve our goal, we will realize the fans' dreams and we will make them proud," he concluded.
