The story

The excitement for this month's FIFA Club World Cup has reached fever pitch, and the latest announcement made by the world football governing body will build the anticipation even further.

Doja Cat, Tems & J Balvin have been announced as headliners for the FIFA Club World Cup's first-ever Halftime Show for the final on 13 July at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

This star-studded lineup features artists who have shone brightest on Global Citizen concert stages in the past.

For J Balvin, this marks his fourth collaboration with Global Citizen, having previously performed during key pandemic-era events.

Grammy Award-winning artist Doja Cat brings her flair and dynamism following standout performances at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival and Global Citizen LIVE in Paris.

Nigerian sensation Tems also joins the lineup, returning after her powerful set at the 2022 Global Citizen Festival in Accra.

As stated in FIFA's press release on Monday, the Final Halftime Show will be curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million (Over R1.7 billion) to improve access to quality education

FIFA's statement also revealed that one dollar from every ticket sold for FIFA Club World Cup matches in the United States this summer will be donated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

Here is what FIFA President Gianni Infantino had to say about the Club World Cup Final Halftime Show and its headliners:
