The rivalry between the Portuguese and the Argentine has been a constant theme in football for close to two decades, with the iconic duo having dominated the sport for the majority of the 21st century. Nowadays, their paths do not cross as often, with Ronaldo playing in the Saudi Pro League and Messi in Major League Soccer.

Record Ballon d’Or winner Messi will be looking to add to his illustrious legacy when he competes in the Club World Cup in a few weeks, with Inter Miami’s first match set to be against the North African giants, Al Ahly.

While Ronaldo may not be present for the tournament, his influence could still be felt by the Rosario native, as Ahly attacker Mohamed Magdy Morsy, also known as Afsha, has promised to do the legendary striker’s celebration should he score against Messi’s side.

"My role model is Cristiano Ronaldo. I try to do everything he does to stay fit, and if I score against Messi in the Club World Cup, I will do Ronaldo's 'Siu' celebration,” the four-time CAF Champions League winner told OnTime Sports.

Although the Red Devils have claimed the bronze medal at the global spectacle on two occasions, the newly expanded iteration of the competition presents stiffer challenges to the Egyptian giants if they are to replicate a similar result. Nonetheless, Afsha insists that he and his teammates fear no opponent.

"Winning the Club World Cup title is a very difficult dream, but nothing is impossible. I'm not afraid of anyone in football. I respect everyone, but I'm not terrified of facing any opponent,” the Egypt international added.
