The Spaniard expressed his happiness and excitement ahead of the tournament, where the Egyptian side will face Inter Miami in the tournament opener.
With just over a week to go until the start of the tournament, Riveiro shared his thoughts on the challenges ahead of him, he told the Al Ahly website.
"We are proud to be here and to be participating in the first edition of the Club World Cup under its new format," Ribeiro told Al Ahly's official website.
"Representing Al Ahly, a club with a rich history and continental titles, in this global event is a great honour and a responsibility we bear with pride."
The former Orlando Pirates coach said the team has been preparing for the tournament since arriving in the USA.
"We were keen to arrive well in advance of the start of the competition to acclimatize to the time and climate. We have already begun our preparations for the first match, the importance of which we are fully aware," he said.
With the Red Devils facing the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Busquets in the tournament opener, Riveiro said his team was up for the challenge.
"We'll be facing a strong team with a group of big stars who don't need much introduction to their football achievements," he said.
"Inter Miami is a new team in terms of its formation, but it has the same ambition to compete, win, and qualify, and we're well aware that the match will be strong and competitive."
He said Al Ahly would demonstrate their character and abilities during the tournament.
