Bundesliga Wrap: Union Berlin's Top Six Hopes Dented

Union Berlin's hopes of securing European football suffered a blow after dropping points at Arminia Bielefeld.

The draw extended Bielefeld's winless record to seven matches, which has left the side in the relegation play-off spot, one point adrift of safety.

For Berlin, it's their fourth straight game without suffering a defeat although they only claimed one win in that period.

Arminia will look to bounce back at Bayer Leverkusen next weekend while Berlin host fellow relegation stragglers Koln.

Koln extended ther winless run in the Bundesliga with a 1-1 draw against Werder Bremen on Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Joshua Sargent opened the scoring for the visitors with his fourth league goal of the season in the 66th minute.

However, Koln rescued a point in the 83rd minute to end the side's three-game losing run although they remain winless in four matches.

The point sees Koln move up to 14th position while Bremen remain 12th after 24 matches played.
