Bundesliga Wrap: Bayer Leverkusen Lose Ground On Top Four Race

Bayer Leverkusen's top-four hopes continue to fade after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Hertha Berlin.

All three goals arrived in the first half, with Deyovaisio Zeefuik, Matheus Cunha and Jhon Cordoba getting on the scoresheet.

The loss leaves Leverkusen seven points adrift of the top four while Hertha have moved out of the relegation and up to 14th spot.

Mainz gave their survival hopes a big boost after defeating Hoffenheim 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Robert Glatzel put the visitors ahead with his second goal of the season after just 30 seconds into the first half.

Ihlas Bebou did managed to pull Hoffenheim level on 39 minutes, but Dominik Kohr's strike two minutes later was enough to secure the win for Mainz.

Freiburg snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Augsburg on Sunday evening.

After the first half ended goalless, Roland Salli broke the deadlock for the home side with his fifth league goal of the season on 51 minutes.

Philipp Lienhart wrapped up the victory for Freiburg with 11 minutes left on the clock as the side move up to eighth spot, three points adrift of the top six.
