Robert Lewandowski moved joint second in the Bundesliga's all-time scoring table after scoring his 268th league goal in Bayern Munich's 3-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Joshua Kimmich was included in the Bavarians line-up for his 250th appearance for the club, while Serge Gnabry and Benjamin Pavard were recalled to the side.

It took a while for Bayern to get going but once they did, they opened the scoring on 22 minutes as Leon Goretzka latched onto Thomas Muller's headed pass to send a header of his own past Jiri Pavlenka.

The visitors went agonisingly close to adding a second goal on 34 minutes but Gnabry saw his volley crack the upright with Pavlenka well beaten.

Gnabry was not to be denied a minute later as the Bayern winger drilling a low strike into the far corner after getting on the end of Muller's pass.

Bayern's dominance continued into the second half, with Robert Lewandowski striking the woodwork on 54 minutes before Pavlenka was called up on to deny the Polish striker four minutes later.

Lewandowski got his reward on 67 minutes with a close-range finish after Kimmich's shot deflected into the path of the Polish striker who has now scored 38 goals across all competitions.

Bremen did manage to pull a goal bac with five minutes left on the clock. Raschica tried his luck but saw his strike saved by Neuer, who could only parry the effort into the path of Niclas Füllkrug who had the easy task slotting home from six yards.
