Result: Bayern Munich 1-1 Union Berlin
Date: 10 April 2021
Venue: Allianz Stadium
Bayern Munich saw their lead at the top of the Bundesliga cut to five points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Union Berlin on Saturday afternoon.
With Robert Lewandowski still out through injury Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting continued to lead the attack while there was a start for Jamal Musiala.
The hosts dominated possession in the early stages of the first half but they had to wait until the 17th minute for a chance as Luthe's clearance ricocheted off Mouting and sailed inches wide.
Union came into the clash desperate to get back on the winning trail, but they had failed to beat the Bavarians in any of their previous encounters.
However, the latter stages of the first half proved to be a dull affair, with both sides struggling in the final third as they went into the break scoreless.
As a result, Bayern coach Hansi Flick withdrew Kinglsey Coman at the start of the second half to introduce Leroy Sane as they went in search of a goal.
The breakthrough eventually arrived on 68 minutes when Thomas Muller bagged his 16th assist of the season to tee up Musiala who slotted into the far corner.
That proved to be Mausiala's last major involvement as the Germany international picked up a knock and was replaced by French defender Tanguy Nianzou.
However, the visitors managed to snatch the equaliser with five minutes left on the clock thanks to Marcus Ingvartsen's close-range finish as Berlin secure a vital point on the road.
