German giants Bayern Munich have been tipped to make a shock R1 billion move for an African striker playing in Spain's second division.
According to Spanish publication AS, the Bundesliga champions could make a move for Almeria forward Umar Sadiq.
It is claimed that Bayern are interested in signing the 24-year-old, who joined Almeria in October 2020 and has so far contributed to 22 goals in 32 matches for the club.
The former Nigeria youth international is believed to have a release clause of €60 million (just over R1 billion) in Spain, but this could reportedly rise to €80 million (R1.3 billion) if his club gains promotion to the top flight.
Sadiq joined Spezia from Nigerian club Abuja in 2013, before moving to Roma in 2015, although he made only six senior appearances for the Giallorossi.
Thereafter, the Nigerian forward had loan spells at several clubs across Europe, including NAC Breda in the Netherlands and Partizan Belgrade, before sealing a permanent move to Almeria.
