The Red Devils dismissed their Spanish tactician this past weekend following a poor run of results at the start of the season. On Saturday evening, the Club of the Century suffered a 2-0 defeat to title rivals Pyramids FC, a result that left the record Egyptian champions languishing in 13th place.
Across Cairo, things are not much better. While Zamalek currently sit second and just a point off top spot in the Egyptian Premier League, their recent 2-1 loss to Wadi Degla has sparked unrest.
According to WinWin, fans and even some officials within the White Knights are calling for the dismissal of manager Yannick Ferrera.
The Belgian replaced Ayman El Ramadi ahead of the new campaign, and while the report claims he still has the full backing of sporting director John Edward Nassif, others inside the club fear keeping the coach on could be a mistake.
It is understood that figures close to Nassif have urged him to act swiftly, arguing that tougher domestic and continental challenges lie ahead, and that it may be better to secure a stronger coach now while the season is still in its infancy.
