2023 Africa Cup of Nations hosts Ivory Coast have named the star-studded squad that is set to take on South Africa and Morocco in their upcoming friendlies.

Jean-Louis Gasset will likely be looking to put the finishing touches on his Elephants squad that will be aiming to be crowned kings of Africa when the AFCON kicks off in their nation early next year.

The Ivorians have not won the competition since 2015, and in preparation of potentially capturing the title on home soil, the African giants have organised friendly fixtures against fellow competition participants the Atlas Lions and Bafana Bafana.

They will take on the currently highest-ranked African nation on 13 October, before going up against Hugo Broos' charges on 17 October.

In a bid to adequately prepare for the continental showpiece in January, Gasset has named a squad littered with star quality, including the likes of Borussia Dortmund marksman Sebastien Haller, Brighton Hove Albion star Simon Adingra and Galatasaray attacker Wilfred Zaha.

The two-time African champions have only beaten South Africa once in the seven matches they've played against one another, with that victory coming their latest meeting at the 2019 AFCON, where they won 1-0.
