A Moroccan topflight side has seemingly clarified whether they intend to bring in Rulani Mokwena as their new head coach for the 2025/26 season.

This past season marked the first time the South African tactician took charge of a club outside his homeland when he was appointed head coach of Wydad Athletic Club.
The 38-year-old led the Red Castle for the majority of the campaign, but late in the season, a run of five consecutive draws—coupled with elimination from the Moroccan Throne Cup—led to him being placed on special leave. He officially parted ways with the club at the end of the campaign.
Despite no longer being at the helm of the nation's record league champions, the Johannesburg native is still in Morocco and has been spotted at various football matches. One of the games the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician was seen attending was the encounter between Hassania Union Sport Agadir and Raja Beni Mellal in late May.
Mokwena’s presence at the match sparked widespread rumours, especially as Hassania’s head coach, Abdelhadi Sektioui, is expected to leave the club this off-season. The ex-Orlando Pirates boss' attendance led to speculation that he could be in line to succeed his Moroccan counterpart.
However, Saida El Aloui, a journalist and club member at the Botola Pro Inwi outfit, has now set the record straight regarding the Betway Premiership title winner’s potential arrival.

"There is nothing to this story,” said El Aloui, as per Radio Mars. "Rulani only attended the first leg of the play-off match between Hassania and Raja Beni Mellal as a spectator. "He was with some friends and left the stadium before the match ended. There are no negotiations or agreements with the club’s management.”
