Algerian international Akram Bouras has attracted interest from Bulgarian club Levski Sofia, who are determined to secure his services during the current transfer window, according to Dzair Tube.
The 23-year-old joined The Doyen ahead of the 2024/25 season from league rivals CR Belouizdad and remains under contract until 2027.
Algerian journalist Nabil Djellit reported that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs for Bouras after the Bulgarian side reached an agreement with Mokwena's team to pay the player's release clause.
The sides are currently negotiating a fee between €700,000 (R14.4 million) and €800,000 (R16.4 million), which will also include a 25% sell-on clause for The Mouloudia in the event he is sold.
The back-to-back Ligue 1 Professionnelle champions are disappointed to lose the Algerian, as Mokwena reportedly considered the midfielder a key part of his plans for the upcoming campaign, as MC Alger are set to compete domestically and continentally.
It marks the second midfield setback for the Johannesburg-born tactician, following the termination of Zakaria Draoui's contract, with club president Hadj Rachid under pressure to find a new midfielder.
