Ghana have enjoyed a strong World Cup qualifying campaign thus far with five wins and a solitary defeat in six games, and wins against Chad and Mali would put the Black Stars in a prime position to qualify for next year's international showpiece.
Ghana head coach Otto Addo picked a strong team, including Athletic Club's Inaki Williams, Brighton's Tariq Lamptey, and Tottenham Hotspur's Mohamed Kudus.
However, Addo also selected Villarreal's Thomas Partey, who is reportedly facing off-field legal issues over sexual assault and rape allegations.
According to Ghana Soccer Net, Ghana FA's Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, explained that the association put careful consideration into choosing the former Arsenal man, who left the Gunners amid the allegations.
"Yes, I spoke to the coach and he said he has spoken to the player," Twum said. "First of all, our support we have given him during this period is good. We have been with him through thick and thin, just that some things, when you are doing it, you don't do it in public," he added.
Foot Africa reported that Twum said the FA has shown support to all players but would not beat around the bush regarding his situation. The Villarreal man assured the team he was in the right space to play.
"We have always supported our players, and he is aware that he faces a trial," the Director said.
"However, Thomas Partey has assured us that he can join the national team and that he is in the right frame of mind to play in these matches," he added.

"If you look at his first two appearances for Villarreal, you can see that he is in excellent shape. As an experienced and key player in the squad, he is ready to return and defend Ghana's colours," Twum concluded.
