The Tanzanian striker was linked with a number of clubs across the African continent, including Chiefs, having played under Nasreddine Nabi at Yanga.
However, Africa Foot have reported that Mzize is set to leave African shores in order to join Qatari club Umm Salal SC.
Reports claim that Egyptian outfit Al Masry SC was close to signing Mzize after submitting a $650,000 (R11.5million) offer a few weeks ago, while they were also willing to give him a bumper contract.
The report from Africa Foot claims that the Salal have outbid Al Masry and are now edging closer to securing an agreement with the Tanzania international.
Any move for Mzize will have to wait for now, as he currently competing with Tanzania at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), a tournament that is only for locally-based players.
The 25-year-old finished the 2024/25 season 14 goals in the Tanzanian Premier League while he netted a further four goals in the CAF Champions League.
