The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) are yet to decide on a date for when they will deliver a verdict on whether Al Ahly will be stripped of their league title.

As things stand, the Egyptian Premier League champions for the 2024/25 campaign are the Club of the Century, as an emphatic 6-0 win over Pharco FC on the final day of the league campaign secured them their 45th league championship in history.
However, that could all change in a couple of weeks, as their league win is a contentious subject — particularly among those affiliated with Pyramids FC. The newly crowned African champions missed out on winning the league by two points, but they filed a motion to CAS claiming that Ahly should be docked three points for failing to honour their Cairo Derby clash against Zamalek in March.
The Red Devils refused to play their fierce rivals because a foreign referee would not be officiating the match, and the Competitions Committee initially ruled that the Club of the Century forfeit the match 0–3 and be docked three points.
However, the league’s board overturned the points deduction, leaving Al Ahly with just a loss to Zamalek but no penalty in the standings. Pyramids FC subsequently escalated the matter to CAS last month, but it does not seem that a verdict will be delivered on the matter any time soon, as the CAS official website revealed that a plethora of matters would be decided at the end of the month — including one in Egypt involving Pharco SC and Moses Turay — but not the league-deciding matter.

According to El Watan Sports, however, CAS have indicated that the matter is being thoroughly investigated, but when a verdict will be delivered remains to be seen. Should they rule in Pyramids’ favour, the club will win their first league title ever.
