Why Real Should Be Blamed For De Gea Saga

Why Real Should Be Blamed For De Gea Saga

Real Madrid and Manchester United seem to be going back and forth as to who was at fault for goalkeeper David de Gea's transfer collapse, but here is why I feel they should rethink their strategy.

Real released a statement after De Gea's transfer to them fell through on deadline day, pointing the finger at United.

It was said that Real Madrid forwarded the necessary papers to United early on Monday afternoon, to which the Red Devils only responded eight hours later.

But the question is: Why did Real not do this deal a lot earlier?

If the Spaniards really wanted De Gea that desperately, they'd have made a good offer for the stopper a lot sooner than the final day of the transfer window!

De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the game, and thanks to the failure of the transfer, he now faces the possibility of a long spell on the sidelines.

The world has known about Real's interest in shot-stopper for months now, but, for some reason, it was left until the last few minutes of the transfer window for the deal to be finalised.

No matter what both parties say, Real should have made their best offer for De Gea months in advance. Instead, we now have football's biggest soap opera on our hands.

Who do you think is to blame for De Gea's transfer collapse?
