Good morning Khosi fans! CAF Champions League action will be returning to our field this weekend against Township Rollers in what could possibly see a reshuffle of the team… Particularly in goal.
The story of how the CAF tournament impacted Chiefs’ title race last season has been well rehearsed, and no one is eager to relive how the league title was thrown away to Mamelodi Sundowns.
One of the main factors in how Chiefs lost their pace went down to Stuart Baxter’s hesitancy in rotating his squad at times, but now it looks like he could opt to change things up.
The area in question is of course the goalkeeping department… Could Itumeleng Khune be handed his first competitive match of 2015?
Brilliant Khuzwayo was in goal for Amakhosi on Wednesday evening against Bloemfontein Celtic evening with Khune available, and it has sparked talk over who will start in goal against Township Rollers…
Alongside the outfield players, should a rotation policy be implemented in goals too?
It seems wasteful to leave the services of Khune’s quality firmly routed on the bench. So, surely he should be featuring in the CAF competitions and Khuzwayo in the league?
It would provide fresh energy and form going into every day rather than risking fatigue for Khuzwayo…
Just a thought of mine… What do you guys think? Should Baxter rotate Khuzwayo and Khune between the league and CAF Champions League games?
