Kaizer Chiefs have become known for their unwillingness to spend cash when it comes to securing players' signature, and it seems they are even more hesitant to buy local players. Can you remember the last few local players they bought?
The Soweto giants welcomed a number of new faces during the June/July transfer window, and no money was actually spent on the South African players as they were either snapped up as free agents or formed part of a swop deal.
This wasn't the case for the likes of Lewis Macha, Michelle Katsvairo and Edmore Chirambadare as they were reportedly bought out of their contracts with their previous clubs.
Even William Twala was signed via a swop deal, with David Zulu and Sibongiseni Ngcobo being sent to Chippa United.
In fact, the last bit of known cash spent on a South African player in the transfer window was on Zulu, while, before that, Morgan Gould and Erick Mathoho were bought from SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic respectively.
As we know, transfer fees aren't made public, but there are speculated figures. Eager to see how much Chiefs possibly spent on these players? Browse the mini-gallery above!
