From time to time, South Africa unearths footballing gems who set the local scene alight before being courted and snapped up by overseas based suitors. Today the Fan Park crew will take a look at four PSL stars ready to conquer the European stage.
Arguably at the peak of his powers, Tower has been one of Kaizer Chiefs' best players this season. Not only has he been solid for Amakhosi, the South African national team has also been benefiting from Mathoho’s rich form. With links abroad intensifying over the course of the season, it could only be a matter of time before Mathoho heads overseas.
The SuperSport United midfielder has been a standout performer for the Pretoria side this season, with his vision and passing ability being some of his best attributes. European leagues demands a certain level of technical brilliance and with Nel still only 18-years old, now could be the right time to mould his technical abilities in a European league.
Vila has been Bidvest Wits' best player for the last couple of seasons and his PSL Player of The Season award is testament to that. Possessing a great deal of skill, strength and technical ability, Vilakazi could well be on his way out of the country after being scouted by Danish club Brondby IF last season.
Rated highly by Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa, Mobara is one of the many stars produced by the famous Urban Warriors academy. Not only does he play the game with maturity beyond his years, his ability to play in defence and midfield can only do him good in terms of versatility. He previously mentioned that he wants to go straight to Europe from Ajax and this dream could come true if he continues to shine for the Urban Warriors.
