Mamelodi Sundowns continue their strategy of securing long-term commitments for their young talents by offering a new four-year contract to a very promising youngster.

Siya sources within the club have indicated that the Brazilians are believed to want to commit Kutlwano Letlhaku to a deal running until June 2028.

The insiders added that the club's faith in their young players is reflected in their efforts to retain them for extended periods, which is why Letlhaku was promoted at the start of the season.

"This is the way the team is dealing with their youngsters now. They are putting more trust and belief in them. By offering them long-term contracts is one way of making sure that talent doesn't go to waste. So, Kutlwano (Letlhaku) has been offered a four-year contract which will run until June 2028. You know, he was promoted at the beginning of the season and he has already shown what he is capable of doing," the Siya source stated.

A second insider mentioned that the 18-year-old will continue to gain valuable playing time with the DDC side, ensuring he stays match-fit.

"You saw what they did with Thapelo Maseko? They gave him a chance with the DDC side to keep fit though he is a senior team player and they are doing the same with Kutlwano (Letlhaku). They know he may not be playing week in or week out with the senior team and that's why he will continue to play with the DDC team, though he will have a senior team contract. They want him to be fit and ready when called upon to play for the senior team," the second insider stated.

The teenager had already made appearances for the senior team under former coach Manqoba Mngqithi and is expected to feature more prominently under new coach Miguel Cardoso. By securing Letlhaku with a long-term contract, the Brazilians can once again demonstrate their commitment to nurturing and developing homegrown talent.

This strategic focus on youth not only strengthens the team's future prospects but also reinforces the club's philosophy of fostering talent from within, ensuring continuity and success.
