The head coach of the Moroccan senior national team, Walid Regragui, has been blamed for Morocco's semi-final elimination at the Olympic Games.

Two second-half goals by FC Barcelona's Fermin Lopez and Sevilla's Juanlu Sanchez undid the Atlas Lions' half-time lead courtesy of Soufiane Rahimi, and perhaps surprisingly, the blame for the loss has since seemingly been placed at Regragui's feet.
The French-born tactician is not the Moroccan Olympic Team's head coach – that honour belongs to Tarik Sektioui – but according to Kooora, the 48-year-old is the team's general supervisor.
He is believed to have held the position since March 2023, and played a major role in the firing of Issame Charai and recommending Sektioui to be his successor.
Despite not being the Olympic Team's head coach, the same report claims that Regragui could be seen giving instructions to the players in the tunnel at half-time.
