Now more than ever, Orlando Pirates fans have felt closer to their club, and particularly the players, thanks to the efforts of their long-term technical sponsors, adidas.

What's the story?
For too long, there has been a gaping gauge between players and the supporters who dedicate their lives to the clubs with unwavering devotion.
If there is one club that have bucked that trend – it is Pirates.
It has become a norm that before big games – such as the Soweto Derby – the Buccaneers give their fans the opportunity to rub shoulders with their stars.
Not only do the supporters of the game get to take selfies, get autographs and get an up-close and personal feel of their idols, they also get to voice their opinion on matters that affect them from a results point of view.

The latest installment of these interactions were made possible before the last Soweto Derby, as adidas in conjunction with Pirates hosted an activation at the Studio 88 store at Maponya Mall.
The likes of Kabelo Dlamini, Innocent Maela, Katlego Otladisa and Siphelo Baloni were all smiles as they interacted with their fans, affectionately known as 'The Ghost'

It's safe to say that the formula worked for the Buccaneers as they managed to gain a 1-0 win over their arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs to take all the bragging rights to Orlando!
