'Coach Left Gallants For Premiership Club'

POLOKWANE, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 24: Abdeslam Ouaddou coach of Marumo Gallants during the Betway Premiership match between Magesi FC and Marumo Gallants FC

A coach who recently claimed to be parting ways with his club appears set for a swift return to management, with sources suggesting a new PSL opportunity is already lined up.

With only a few days after his resignation from Marumo Gallants and despite the refusal from the club about his departure, Siya sources have indicated that the former Marumo Gallants coach is set for a switch to Chippa United.

Insiders close to the coach and Chippa United added that the coach resigned from Gallants because he is on his way to the Chilli Boys.

Sources privy to reliable information stated that coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is believed to be set to join Chippa United at the start of next season.

"What I know is that when he was resigning from Marumo Gallants there were already talks between him and Chippa United for him to replace Thabo September. So, now it's believed that Chippa United are ready to get him as their new head coach," the Siya source stated.

Meanwhile, a second insider stated that Mabhuti Khanyeza is set to remain as the assistant coach to the Moroccan-born mentor.

"Before Abdeslam Ouaddou was set to join the club, Mabhuti Khanyeza was the one who could have been in charge of the team in the pre-season camp. But now that there will be a new coach, the club is believed to be retaining Mabhuti, as their assistant coach for next season. That's how things stand right now," the second insider told the Siya crew.

Soccer Laduma contacted Chippa United but there was no response at the time of publishing this story.

For Ouaddou, who guided Gallants during their challenging campaign, the move represents an opportunity to continue working in South African football, this time with a team that has established itself in the top flight.
