Benni McCarthy, who is considered by many to be one of the greatest South Africans ever to play the game, was recently named among the "greatest one-season wonders" in Premier League history. Check it out!
Before Benni arrived in England with Blackburn Rovers in the 2006/07 season, the Bafana Bafana legend was already a serial winner, boasting a UEFA Champions League winner's medal from his time with FC Porto.
Much was expected of the former Celta Vigo striker, and he proved his worth by ending that campaign among the top goalscorers in the Premier League.
With only Chelsea great Didier Drogba ahead of Benni in the goalscorers chart come the end of the season, the South African's 18 goals was enough to see him being named among the best one-season wonders in Premier League history, according to Squawka Football.
