Whether you're a football fan or not, everyone knows that Matthew Booth's name has been synonymous cheesecake this week, among other things.
The retired Bafana Bafana defender was accused of stepping out of his marriage by his wife Sonia Booth in a flurry of Instagram posts that continued as recently as yesterday.

Booth makes Cheesecake a trending topic
By simply googling cheesecake Matthew and Sonia Booth's names will pop up, the latter took social media by storm when she accused her husband of cheating on her in a scandal that's centered around cheesecake.
In a series of explosive IG posts, Sonia revealed findings of her husband's alleged infidelity. Slice by slice, she unpacked GPS routes, gifts, private investigator findings and most importantly, a Matthew Booth-baked cheesecake.
Sonia revealed that she found cheesecake ingredients on the fridge of their home, much to the excitement of herself and their two boys.

Matthew, the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns defender, allegedly baked the infamous cheesecake at night, with Sonia assuming that it was for their oldest son's 18th birthday. Much to Sonia's surprise, she couldn't get a taste of the cheesecake she was salivating over the next day.
When meeting Booth's alleged mistress' husband, she put two and two together and realised that the cheesecake was for Matthew's alleged mistress, Bongani Moller.
The cheese cake was placed in a cake carrier Tupperware, which was returned to Sonia by Bongani Moller's husband, Klaus.
Sonia then placed the returned cake carrier in Matthew's parking spot:
Matthew Booth's cheating cheesecake saga took over the social media trends, with brands such as Nando's and Chateau Gateaux capitalising on the drama with the former posting a cheeky ad online.
Tweeps and Tik-Tok creators have also made light of the situation with memes and cheeky videos relating to baking cheesecake in the evening.
Cravings for cheesecake reached a fever pitch and ingredients for the trendy dessert were published on news sites such as News 24.
Booth responds!
Yesterday afternoon, Matthew took to social media to release a statement, following his dirty laundry being outed by his wife Sonia.
Matthew, who's trending as much as his "delicious" cheesecake, denied the cheating allegations and says the matter has been handed over to his attorneys.
