Zim Boss Makes Big Chivaviro Admission

The Zimbabwe national team's boss has made a massive admission about Kaizer Chiefs forward Ranga Chivaviro.

After joining Amakhosi last season, the 31-year-old is finally seeing regular game time under new head coach Nasreddine Nabi.

The physically imposing forward has scored two goals in his opening three matches in the league this season, and looks to be returning to the form he displayed during his time at Marumo Gallants.

His recent form also seems to have caught the attention of Warriors head coach Michael Nees.

While Chivaviro was born in Limpopo, South Africa, his father is Zimbabwean and that makes him eligible to play for their national team should he receive the proper documentation from their government.

Nees is close to leading the southern African outfit to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations – they currently sit second in their qualification group, four points ahead of closest rivals Kenya in Group J, with two qualifiers left to play.

The German tactician has revealed that they are paying close attention to Chivaviro, but suggested that the striker will need to continue his good form if he is to be called up.

"We have a long list of players, and we are interested in every good player," Nees admitted after their 3-1 win over Namibia earlier this week, as per Soccer24.

"But we also have good players here. We're monitoring everybody and when the time is right, we will decide whether to approach him or not. It's not just that someone is playing at Kaizer Chiefs.

"We observe every player but we should also praise those we already have. We have a very long list, and it's not a matter of bringing in anyone, but we should add value."
