AFCON: Ghana On The Brink Of Elimination

African star Mohammed Kudus is reportedly being heavily monitored by Real Madrid

South Sudan 1-2 Uganda

Uganda all but secured a spot in the next AFCON tournament after a 2-1 win over South Sudan at Juba Stadium.

Denis Omedi opened the scoring for Uganda on 15 minutes and Yohanna Juma levelled matters for Sudan six minutes later.

However, an own goal by Alfred Leku on 66 minutes handed the Cranes all the three points.

Paul Put opened a two point lead at the top of Group K and South Sudan were eliminated at the bottom, with zero points after their fourth consecutive defeat.

Sudan 2-0 Ghana

Ghana's chances of qualifying were severely damaged after a shock 2-0 defeat to Sudan at Martyrs of February Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Ahmed Al-Tash broke the deadlock for Sudan just after the hour-mark and Mohamed Abdel Raman doubled their lead moments later.

The Black Stars remained in third place in Group F but slipped five points behind second-placed Sudan, with two rounds of matches remaining.

Angola have qualified, with a five-point lead at the top of the section.  

Malawi 0-1 Senegal

Senegal qualified after a narrow and last-gasp 1-0 win over Malawi at Bingu National Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Sadio Mane snatched what proved to be the winner for the Lions of Teranga deep in added time.

Senegal are second in Group L with ten points, equal on points with leaders Burkina Faso. The Flames, on the other hand, are eliminated after their fourth successive defeat

Sierra Leone 1-0 Cote d'Ivoire

Ivory Coast missed the chance to qualify with two games to spare after a shock 1-0 loss to Sierra Leone at Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.

The first stanza did not produce goals, until Amadou Bakayoko broke the deadlock for Leone Stars five minutes before time.

The Elephants' lead at the top of Group G was cut down to two points while Sierra Leone moved up to third, three points behind second-placed Zambia.

Niger 0-1 Angola

Angola booked their spot in the finals after a narrow 1-0 over Niger at Stade Larbi Zaouli.

Zini gave Angola the lead within the first minute and that was enough to give them the maximum points.

The Palancas Negras extended their lead at the top of Group F to five points while Niger are out of the running at the bottom with one point.
