Nigeria is set to face Libya once again in a 2025 AFCON qualifier on Tuesday night.

The Super Eagles were victorious over the same side this past weekend when they won 1-0 courtesy of a Fisayo Dele-Bashiru goal.

Now, the two sides are poised to face each other once again at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, but it seems that Nigeria are facing some serious challenges getting to the city of Benghazi.

According to Soccernet Nigeria, the Nigeria Football Federation had co-ordinated for the team's charted flight to land in Libya's second most populous city, but an hour before their arrival their plane was diverted to Al Abraq, a city a two-hour drive away from their original destination.

Upon arriving at Al Abraq International Airport, the three-time AFCON winners have now been left stranded at the landing strip for over 12 hours awaiting permission to go to their hotel.

This is according to Nigeria's captain William Troost-Ekong, who took to his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account to let his frustrations be known, while also stating that they now refuse to honour the fixture due to the lack of professionalism.

The 31-year-old wrote: "At this point we have called for our Nigerian Government to intervene and rescue us. As the captain together with the team we have decided that we will NOT play this game. CAF should look at the report and what is happening here."
