Wydad 'Make' Major Coaching Call For Rulani

It has been an erratic start to life in Casablanca for the South African tactician.

Since assuming responsibility of the Red Castle, the Johannesburg native has won four, drawn three and lost two matches in the Botola Pro Inwi and the Excellence Cup.

Despite the lack of consistency from the Moroccan giants, the club seems to still be fully behind Mokwena as they look to return to the summit of domestic football.

When the former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach arrived at the home of the three-time African champions, he came with a technical team largely composed of South Africans.

Allan Freese, Sinethemba Badela, Sibusiso Makitla and Sibusiso Mahlangu all made their way to Wydad alongside Mokwena, but according to MFM Sport, the club's board of directors now want a Moroccan to be included as his assistant.

The same report suggests that Wydad executives want a Moroccan coach who is fluent in English to help better transmit Mokwena's ideas to the team in an effort to stabilise results, with it said the coach must also have extensive knowledge of the Botola Pro.

It remains to be seen who the club will appoint to work alongside the 37-year-old tactician, but it looks as though the process of looking for candidates has already commenced.
