In February, the two African rivals contested a titanic tussle in the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles were able to narrowly win that final-four encounter in Bouake as they defeated South Africa 4-2 on penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw after extra-time.
On the technical staff for the west Africans in that match was George, who was an assistant to their former boss Jose Peseiro.

The former Nigeria international has now succeeded the Portuguese in the Nigeria hot seat, and his first competitive match in charge of the three-time African champions will be against their bitter rivals in Uyo.
Of the 14 games the two sides have played against each other, the 1996 Olympic gold medallists have had an overwhelming advantage, winning eight of them, and George is confident his side can extend that record on 7 June if his players play at their highest level.
"We know it's a difficult game, we played against South Africa in the concluded AFCON and we know their capacity. Most of their players play in South Africa, but we know if our players give that 100% that we see them do in Europe, we would not have problems winning that game," the former winger said, as per Complete Sports.

"I believe with the form our players have and the way they are playing in Europe, we will definitely have that form for those games. I think we are good to go and we just pray that we have that luck."
