According to a report from Football365, the Red Devils could look to take advantage of Vitor Roque's situation at Barcelona by offering Greenwood as part of a swap deal for the 19-year-old.
United were among the clubs interested in Roque prior to his switch to Spain.
The striker joined the Catalan club in January from Athletico Paranaense for €40 million (R796 million), but has battled to impress head coach Xavi Hernandez since.
Roque has made only 13 appearances across all competitions for the Blaugrana, scoring twice, and last featured in LALIGA at the start of April.
Rumours suggest that his agent, Andre Cury, is furious with the way he has been treated in Spain and will only allow his client to leave on a permanent transfer not a loan.
It is said United could look to use Greenwood in an exchange deal amid reports indicating that the one-time England international will be moved on from Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old has spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Getafe, and has reportedly accepted that his time at his boyhood club is over.
