What's the story?

Having collected the most Man of the Match awards in the DStv Premiership, with a stellar contribution of nine goals and 12 assists, Patrick Maswanganyi has had an impeccable debut season at Orlando Pirates.

Affectionately known as "Tito" or "iAmbulance yaseTembisa," the Stars of Africa Academy graduate has become a firm fan-favourite at the Buccaneers for his entertaining display of skills and for being the driving force of Pirates' attack among other things.

To further show their appreciation for the Bafana Bafana attacking midfielder, the expressive Bucs supporters were seen displaying an Ambulance vehicle made out of cardboard.

During Orlando Pirates' 3-1 win over Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, the Happy People were seen chanting "weh, Tito" and parading the Ambulance cardboard around the stands at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Tito is being hotly tipped for the PSL Footballer of the Season award and could compete with the likes of Stellenbosch and Bafana Bafana goal-getter, Iqraam Rayners; Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro; and Bafana Bafana skipper Ronwen Williams for the top individual prize.

Bucs head coach Jose Riveiro shared his thoughts on whether Maswanganyi has done enough to claim the award at the end of the season:
