Man Utd's Rashford Wage Offer 'Revealed'

Man Utd's Rashford Wage Offer 'Revealed'

Manchester United are reportedly keen on making Marcus Rashford their highest earner with a new deal.

With Marcus Rashford's contract expiring next year, Manchester United have reportedly offered the Englishman a new deal with blockbuster wages.

According to The Sun, the record Premier League winners want to make their academy graduate their highest earner by giving him a brand-new contract that will see him earn £300 000 (R6.8 million) a week.

The 25-year-old's current deal comes to an end in June 2024, and the Mancunians want to tie down their 2022/23 talisman for the long term.

The funds to make this possible will reportedly come from the slashing of goalkeeper David de Gea's wages from £375 000 (R8.5 million) to £200 000 (R4.5 million) a week, in what is expected to be the Spaniard's new deal.

The same report claims there will be enough money remaining for United to offer Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane the same wage package as Rashford.

Rashford has been in sublime form this season for the Mancunians, finding the back of the net 28 times in all competitions as the Red Devils look to finish the season in the league's top four and capture the FA Cup.

As such, this has been England international's most prolific campaign in a United jersey, and the club wants to ward off interest from other European giants with a new contract.

While keeping his star player will be of the utmost importance for manager Erik ten Hag, the Dutch tactician has also reportedly made signing a striker a top priority, and it seems Kane is the man he wants.

It appears unlikely the Three Lions' all-time top goalscorer will extend his stay in north London after yet another disastrous campaign with Spurs, perhaps creating an opening for United to pounce.
