Saleng Key, Another Influential Buccaneer Proving Doubters Wrong…

While the role of Monnapule Saleng in Orlando Pirates' pursuit of CAF Champions League qualification and success in local competitions cannot be disputed, several other players at the Soweto giants have been quietly making progress without getting any praise.

One such player is Kabelo Dlamini who has had fans giving him a tough time at times for his performances and contribution to the team.

However, because of his high work-rate in training, Bucs coach Jose Riveiro has stuck with the Daveyton-born star with his inclusion in the starting line-ups and his performances have been improving.

During the 4-1 win for the Buccaneers over Swallows FC, Dlamini had one of his best games this season and was influential in ensuring the three points for the side.

The 26-year-old had assists to two of Saleng's goals as the Bucs sharpshooter bagged a hat-trick and helped the team to remain in the race in the DStv Premiership.

The two players will be key for Bucs in the Nedbank Cup when they face Venda Football Academy in the Last 16 of the prestigious competition.

"I like the way our coach is getting the best out of all the players and the combinations are getting better and better. Even the combination of (Miguel) Timm and (Ndabayithethwa) Ndlondlo is working for the team in that midfield and the coach should be commended," said former Pirates striker James Mothibi.
