With a Dutch international hoping to switch his international allegiance to be able to play for Morocco at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, here are five players who recently changed their nationality in order to go to Qatar.

The tournament gets underway later this month in the Middle East, where many of football's strongest international sides, such as Brazil, Germany and Argentina, will be vying to become world champions.
Ahead of the competition, which begins on 20 November, a number of players have managed to successfully switch their international allegiance in order to give themselves the best chance of taking part in the beautiful game's biggest event.
Brighton Hove Albion fullback Tariq Lamptey is one of them, having decided to make himself available for Ghana despite being capped on 20 occasions at youth level for England, where he was born in 2000.
The 22-year-old made his debut for the Black Stars in September, and is expected to be included in manager Otto Addo's squad when the African giants announce their selection in the coming weeks.
Here are five footballers who could turn out for African nations at the World Cup:
Spanish-born forward Inaki Williams, meanwhile, is likely to turn out for Ghana in Qatar after he announced his decision to represent the country in which his father was born. The 28-year-old has been a regular at Athletic Bilbao in LaLiga for years now, and only played for Spain once, in an international friendly back in 2016, a 3-1 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
German-born winger Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, who plays for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, has also made himself available for Ghana after making just one appearance for the European nation's U21 team last year.
Another Premier League footballer who has committed to an African nation ahead of the World Cup is Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, who, despite being capped for France as a youth player, accepted Cameroon's call-up in the recent international break.
The 23-year-old French-born attacker featured twice for the Indomitable Lions, playing 90 minutes in each of their defeats to Uzbekistan and South Korea.

Lastly, ex-Southampton right-back Yan Valery has seemingly given up hope of playing for the France national side after he opted to switch his allegiance to represent Tunisia, for whom he debuted in September.
Netherlands international Anwar El Ghazi, meanwhile, is reportedly in the process of trying to switch his allegiance to Morocco after finding out that he had been snubbed for the Oranje's preliminary squad for the tournament in Qatar.
