Sangweni has been in Johannesburg since last week for training with Bidvest Wits. The Students have been keen on adding the player to their roster for the 2017/18 season.
However, the Dondotha-born star has now been signed by the Buccaneers, who are looking to reinforce their squad for next season, after a disappointing 2016/17 PSL campaign.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been a transfer target for Bucs for some time. Having previously played for Mamelodi Sundowns, both Soweto giants, Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, have been after the player's services, although Chippa were reluctant to part ways with him in the past.

With the Buccaneers having finally secured his services, the player will follow in the footsteps of his brother, Siyabonga Sangweni, to don the colours of the team.
Siya Sangweni starred as Bucs' defender and achieved success with the club between 2011 and 2016, since joining the from Golden Arrows. He retired at the club last year, after sustaining a career-threatening injury.
