An insider stated that both players contributed significantly over the weekend, with one creating a goal and the other scoring in a friendly match win.

"The boys are already doing very well in Portugal and the team is happy for the short space of time that they have been there. Over the weekend they were involved in a friendly game and Thabang Mahlangu created a goal for Thabang Makubo to score for SD Huesca in a friendly game which SD Huesca won 3-1. So you can see that they are not just training but they are playing and contributing to the team. They are happy and the team is happy as well seeing them doing well," the Siya source stated.

A second source emphasized that SuperSport United are committed to providing these young players with the opportunities to establish themselves in Europe.

"There is no need to rush them back from the club's point of view. They want the players to take their time to prove themselves there and it's believed that they have already started on a good note. You know SuperSport United believe in sending young players to Europe without problems as in the past they sent Kermit Erasmus and Kamohelo Mokotjo and recently Shandre Campbell. So it's the same with Thabang Makubo and Thabang Mahlangu. So their futures are looking bright at the moment," the second source stated.
