The midfielder from Swaziland previously played for Jomo Cosmos. The 25-year-old is currently registered with Mbabane Swallows in Swaziland.

Badenhorst had a week-long trial with Sundowns in December last year, as confirmed by Swallows' CEO, Sibusiso Manana.

The Brazilians have been following the player's progress throughout the course of last year. Badenhorst was identified as a potential transfer target for Sundowns by the club's chief scout, Trott Moloto.

According to the latest information coming out of Sundowns, the player is set to be handed a second chance to impress Pitso Mosimane and his technical team.

"Mr Moloto has really shown interest in Felix and that's why they want him to go for the second phase of trials, after he trained with the team last year December. The Swazi Premier League is in its final third and he will probably go to South Africa at the end of the season," a source in Swaziland told the Siya crew.

Manana would not deny nor confirm the latest developments when contacted for a comment by the Siya crew.

"We are busy with our league and also the CAF Champions League. Our focus right now is on those tournaments. Let's talk about the trial later," said Manana.
